What is the latest news from FIRST in Latin America?
AV: As you know, the region, and Brazil in particular, has been a major focus for FIRST in the past 12 months and I’m delighted to be able to say that we are now the platform of choice for 50 sports betting brands in Brazil since the market regulated in January.
The credit for this incredible achievement goes to all the FIRST teams, from sales to commercial, all the way through to tech and development. We have also opened an office in Sao Paulo to facilitate meetings, IMs and AMs, and ensure we address customer requests quickly and efficiently.
Having an on-the-ground local presence is great for our clients as it enables us to respond to their requests in optimal time. We can also anticipate and prepare for any issues that might arise.
We also welcomed Matheus Leal as our new Commercial Director, Brazil, who brings a wealth of experience to our commercial efforts. I’m delighted that he has joined FIRST – Best in Sports, his contacts and knowledge of the industry are already bearing fruit for us.
Brazil is the largest market in the region and FIRST powers up to 40+ sports betting brands there, how does the company manage those activities?
AV: Our teams are hugely experienced in integrating partners so that we can deliver speed-to-market and fast launches for them. We have also been focusing on and preparing for the Brazilian and LATAM markets for the past 12 to 18 months, which has enabled us to test and localize our sportsbook to be personalized per operator.
We then deliver growth for our operators though our comprehensive, highly localised market coverage that enables them to compete with the largest betting brands in the market. Our ability to custom tailor the FIRST platform to our operators’ requests and focus areas has been a key pillar to our success in the region.
This approach is supported by a fully comprehensive and flexible betting solution: our betting markets and odds are produced in-house and tailored to our operators’ geos and are available as fully or semi-managed solutions.
This means our operators can trade specific events and markets depending on their needs, which gives them full flexibility when it comes to trading and risk management.
What else can we expect from FIRST in the region?
AV: We are in constant talks with B2B partners and prospects in Brazil, currently focusing on countries like Mexico, Ecuador, Chile, Guatemala, Colombia and many more. Our focus has always been on making FIRST – Best in Sports the leading B2B provider of sports betting solutions in Latin America and globally. We are well on course towards achieving that aim.
